We currently are in the process of planning our RSVP/SVA Volunteer Recognition Events for 2022!
Alzheimer's San Diego, Walk4ALZ Event 2021 This past October, one of our partner sites, Alzheimer's San Diego, recently had an event supporting the 100,000 of San Diegans living with dementia and their care partners (with their dogs!). They exceeded their fundraising goal of $475,000 with a total of $476,726 which every penny raised stayed local to San Diego County!
RSVP/SVA Volunteer Recognition Drive-Thru Luncheon 2020 Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Senior Volunteers in Action (SVA) participants historically, are honored at three regional recognition events during the month of May. Due to COVID19, the program shifted from tradition and had to get creative. The events were held in September by having three drive-thru events that were hosted in various parking lots around the County.
This was a fun and new experience for the volunteers! Volunteers were given a to-go lunch, prepared by Cupid’s Catering. They were also given an insulated lunch tote, mask, hand sanitizers and alcohol wipes.
After the lunch drive-thru events, there was a virtual celebration via zoom for those wishing to attend. During the zoom call, the RSVP Manager expressed thanks to volunteers and recognized those volunteers with the highest number of volunteer hours as well as those with 20 or more years of volunteer service.
RSVP/SVA Volunteer Recognition Luncheon 2019 The RSVP Recognition Luncheon is our annual event celebrating all of our volunteers!
In 2018, over 1,200 SVA/RSVP Volunteers contributed 384,000 hours of service in San Diego County. That's 384,000 hours of work being put into our community! This free lunch and celebration for our volunteers is the least we can do to applaud the hard work and dedication in making our San Diego community safer, thriving, and living well!
