Jane Vorrath is the RSVP/SVA Volunteer of the Month for November, 2017. She was nominated by Craig Carlson of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Rancho San Diego station. “Jane is a model volunteer, she shows up on time, gives a full day of work, is pleasant with all encountered in the workplace and never complains”.
Jane is also extremely giving with her time. She patrols one to two times per week, in addition to staffing the office every Tuesday. When Jane works in the office, she is a huge help with a wide variety of tasks including completing daily deployments, setting up vacation checks and extra patrols, data input of daily log sheets, scheduling and coordinating the maintenance of patrol cars, calling YANA’s, processing citations, coordinating changes in schedules, et
In addition to all of her hard work, Jane is a joy to work with. “Everyone on the Senior Volunteer Patrol staff enjoys working with her”. The Command staff at the Rancho San Diego Station also constantly gives great feedback on Jane’s work ethic and helpfulness in managing the workflow.
Jane is also a regular volunteer at many special events throughout the year (many of which occur on the weekends). These include traffic control at fairs, parades, concerts, school graduations and events at Cuyamaca College. She also helps with recruiting other volunteers and participating in the Holiday Watch at shopping centers in December.
John Kline, the Senior Volunteer Patrol Administrator at the Rancho San Diego station said “Jane consistently exceeds the expectations of a senior volunteer and always seems to go the extra mile”. Congratulations, Jane and thank you for all the valuable work that you do!
